Prague/November 2008/Adrenaline: Rock Café - a nice mix between Pilsner and rock. Make your choice between indie films, Krawall Bruder (german streetcore), Ska, legendary British Psychic TV or plain old school Oi! like the Business. (Narodni street 20. # 420 224 933 947.) (Posted by Stefan) |

Copenhagen/November 2008/Adrenaline: Stengade 30: You’ll find a huge variety at this subversive and underground club in Norrebro, anything from Sailor-punk (Dead Men’s Tale) to Reggae and DJ’s. The t-shirt terrorists from the label “Fighters and Lovers” recently had a acquittal party (they were freed in Byretten/local court in spite of their provocative prints) here. Schedule: www.stengade30.dk Copenhagen/November 2008/Adrenaline: Vega is the all-time grand old man of Copenhagens independent concert halls, any medium sized band you’ll normally find here and there’s really good weekend clubs to. Immortal Technique, revolutionary Puerto Rican/NY rapper played here. www.vega.dk Copenhagen/November 2008/Adrenaline: Lades Kaelder is a classic rock bar/club, catering for smaller acts than Vega. If you’re into Hardcore and punk you’ll enjoy their ‘Dr Evils Lab of Rock’ club Thursdays. (Kattesundet 6, Tlf: 33 14 00 67. www.lades.dk) Copenhagen/November 2008/Adrenaline: You’ll find a lot of medium sized local and foreign (Swedish, UK and US) indie-bands at Rust (like Miss Li from Sweden or Bloc Party from UK). (Rust, Guldbergsgade 8. www.rust.dk) Copenhagen/November 2008/Adrenaline: if you feel like yet another rock-bar, but at the same time want to impress your spouse with cocktails, Apparatet is it. Indierock, Thursdays live night and strong (minimum 6 cl liquor) drinks make for a god mix. Copenhagen/November 2008/Chill-Out: If you feel like venturing outside Norrebro, the new superhip area of the semi-industrial Meat Packing District is a good place to head. Surprisingly centrally located, at the end of Istegade/Halmtorvet, you’ll find the hippest place for artists, photographers, musicians and the odd brat to hang out. Try for example either Jolene Bar or Karriere Bar (Flesketorvet 57-85) |

Helsinki/November 2008/Adrenaline: When in Helsingfors, don't go looking for no sissy music, it's hevi (=heavy) or nothing, and add a lot of Koff-beer to that. If you like it medium-hard (=more chicks) good places would be either Bar Loose (Fredrikinkatu 34) or Tavastia (Urho Kekkosen 4-6). The latter have live-bands in the basement (punk, alternative etc.). Semifinal is a next door bar to Tavastia, where you could possibly chill with local musicians. If you want it seriously hard, find your way to Inferno (Annankatu 10) or On the Rocks Turku, Åbo/November 2008/Adrenaline: Whisky Bar (Yliopistonkatu 15 Turku), this place fucking rocks! Pantera, Marylin Manson and Slipknot blows the speakers. Open mon-sun 18.00-03.00 (Posted by Jussi) Turku, Åbo/November 2008/Adrenaline: Bar Kuka (Linnankatu 17 Turku), an oldtimer Mods (Hippie) owns this place - Kuka means Who in english (diggit The Who??) open mon-sun 14.00-02.00. This bar is one of my favorite bars in Turku! Did you know that all the furniture in this bar are for sale? Another fun thing about this place is that they have BINGO every tuesday starting at 22.00, which has become very popular among young people. It doesn't cost anything and you can win small prizes and drink cupons. (Posted by Joonas T) Turku, Åbo/November 2008/Chill out: I would recommend bar/restaurant Blanko (Aurakatu 1 Turku). It has the best crosskitchen food in town (especially their lambpasta is great!) and the atmosphere is very hip and trendy. Every now and then they have some dj's during the weekend, playing mostly jazz remixes, funk, groov etc. here's their website: www.blanko.net (Posted by Joonas T) |

Chamonix/June 2009/Adrenaline: If you fell while snowboarding, broke your neck and died – this is where you may end up at: Swedish Hell (or Swedish Heaven – your choice) also known by it’s official name Chambre Neuf. Party hard with Swedes at this after-ski place and try your skills at a drinking competition. (272, Avenue Michel Croz) Chamonix/June 2009/Adrenaline: If this sounds too much for you, try Elevation 1911 on the opposite side of Chambre Neuf, nice afternoon sun, outdoor tables and pitcher beers and lots of the seasons ski-bums. Chamonix/June 2009/Adrenaline: A bit more quality could be find at the microbrewery nearby serving delicious homemade ales. They’re known by the name MBC - short for MicroBreweryChamonix (no points for originality there…). If you’re not a local, the service can be a bit erratic. When you’re finished there’s the skateboarding rink opposite to you’re your skill at. Work up that dutch courage first, though. (Avenue Bois de Bouchet) |

Amsterdam/November 2008/Adrenaline: Le Club Suburbia is the hottest punk/new wave club right now in Amsterdam. Constant flow of mostly unsigned dutch and foreign bands, like Karaktermoord and Liars, liars cross on fire (www.leclubsuburbia.org, Amstelveensweg 134/south side of Vondelpark) (posted by Karl K) |

Rome-San Lorenzo/November 2008/Adrenaline: The area to head for if you’re even remotely interested in anything alternative (graffiti, hip hop, street skating or punk) is San Lorenzo. A good venue, worth checking out, is Lian Club – they do a lot of happenings and punk concerts and anything you can think of. (Via degli Enotri 8, Scalo San Lorenzo) |

Oslo/November 2008/Adrenaline: If you easily get lost, Maiden is still a good club choice for you, smack in the middle of Oslo, a few minutes from Stortinget (the parliament). Maiden cater for your bloodthirst, plenty of black, death or grind metal every night ‘til 3 in the morning. What more colud you ask for ? Maybe records, sold together with beer ? Yes, they have it – sold by nosebleed records right in the club! (Ovre Vollg. 13 or web www.maiden.no) (posted by Stefan) Oslo/November 2008/Adrenaline: Following in the footsteps of Maiden, Rock In also qualifies for one of the least imaginative names you could come up with for a club. Surprise – they play rock to ! None the less, in spite of their Spinal Tap choice of name they play good classic rock and could be considered the less extreme older brother or sister of the Maiden club. (www.rockin.no) (posted by Stefan) Oslo/November 2008/Adrenaline: Garage Oslo is the place to go for live music in Oslo. A wide variety of genres and a number of unexpected bands turn up almost every day, music is anything from Alternative, Indie to Punk and Metal. Think of something like Division of Laura Lee (S) meets Biohazard (US) meets Acid Mother temple (JP). (Grensen/Ovre SlottsGate. www.garageoslo.no) (posted by Stefan) Oslo/November 2008/Adrenaline: The prize for showing most endurance when it comes to promoting the gospel of rock and punk goes to Elm Street Rock Café. If you think that ‘café’ sounds a bit dodgy, you may be more convinced when you learn that most rock stars visiting Norway also visit Elm Street (we’re talking Chili Peppers, Ministry, Danko Jones and another endless number of people). On top of being popular with rockstars, they put on shows with classic bands like Vice Squad, UK Subs, Cockney Rejects, Lydia Lunch or maybe Brutal Kuk. Porto/November 2008/Adrenaline: Industria Porto, good late night club with a number of bands and DJ's - mostly from the local area or European visitors. Rather fancy, no beat down sneakers, close enough to finish off your night at the nearby beaches. (Avenida do Brasil nº 843 lojas a/f. www.industriaporto.com) (posted by Joao) |

Madrid/November 2008/Chill-out: El Sol is a pretty laid back bar, dealing in drum'n'bass hip hop and 70's rock. Get's really crowded after 2 a.m. and if you haven't had enough by 6 a.m continue to the next door local dive-bar 'After Sun' and meet true locals - by 10 a.m. you have to go to bed! (El Sol - calle Jardines 3, # 91-5326490)(After Sun - Calle Abada 2). (Posted by Miguel) Barcelona/November 2008/Adrenaline: Welcome to Alice in Wonderland laced with magic mushrooms! "La Fira" is an unlikely place even for Barcelona : enter the dragon's lair through a mind-shattering corridor of distorted mirrors, then swing in a hammock and watch fortune tellers, carousel parts and renaissance architecture - and, yes, you can drink to! (Weekends late. La Fira - Provenca 171 #34 939 78 10 96) (Posted by Miguel) Barcelona/November 2008/Adrenaline: Head for Razzamatazz if you have a craving for Post-Punk, Indie or Goth. Pick one of the 3 dancefloors at this crowded ex-factory, but be sure to be late 3 - 6 a.m. weekends (Almogavers 122, red line/Marina station) (Posted by Miguel) Barcelona/November 2008/Adrenaline: The place to go bar-hopping these days in Barcelona is El Born, an area packed with bars - and new ones constantly opening. Try 'Magic' for heavy rock thurs-sun (Pg. de Picasso 40) (Posted by Miguel) Barcelona/November 2008/Adrenaline: If you really, really like your alcohol, a good place to test your stamina is the authentic 'Marsella' in the once seedy neighbourhood of Barrio Rival. The drink of choice is the leathal Absinth. 19th century design with cracked mirrors - and according to legend Hemingway drank here. Order a full glass, soak the sugarcube, set on fire and dissolve in the absinth - enjoy! (Sau Pau 47, Metro: Liceu) (Posted by MagnusJ) |

Stockholm/November 2008/Adrenaline: Smack in the middle of Stockholm you find two of the city's best rock clubs. They're both named Debaser (followed by 'Medis' or 'Gamla Stan') and have a wide array of clubs, bands, DJ's etc. every day of the week, for example Gogol Bordello, Sage Francis, Club Killers (Ska) etc. (Debaser, Medborgarplatsen/Medborgarhuset or Debaser, Slussen/Old Town, Slusstorget) Debaser also have a club in the city of Malmö.
