Buenos Aires/November 2008/Adrenaline:
If you’re into live rock a decent place is Tijuana Rock, but call ahead to check what’s on and if they’ve restarted their live acts. (Independencia 722, Zarate. 03487434995).

Chakaltaya/November 2008/Adrenaline:
A place not to be missed if you decided to bring your snowboard and want to try the combination ‘no oxygen, coca leaves, the world’s highest ski resort and snowbarding’ is Chakaltaya, an hour above La Paz.

Rio/November 2008/Gluttony:
Ice cold Antarctica or Brahma chopps are perfect at the Arpoador beach when chilling-out after a surf session. But at night – if you’re a beer lover – you may want to hang out with the student and rockers crew at Devassa in Leblon. At this rustic microbrewery you’ll find yourself beyond light lager. Try their Long Necks or Mulattas. (Rua General San Martin 1241, Leblon. www.devassa.com.br)

Rio/November 2008/Adrenaline:
Hip Hop alert! If you want to expand your beat horizon beyond Kayne West, try out Let’s Hop in Botafago, where upcoming Rio Rappers battle for a place in the limelight. If lucky you may find a Rio hiphop institution like Planet Hemp here (Casa de Matriz, Rua Henrique de Novaes 107)

Rio/November 2008/Adrenaline:
Rio Scenarium is a sort of classy – but relaxed – samba club in Lapa, without that oversized arena feeling. Lots of small decorated rooms to lose yourself and your girlfriend in, after trying out the variety of kick-ass Caipirinhas (Rua do Lavradio 20).

Rio/November 2008/Adrenaline:
After partying hard for a few days you may find it hard to reach that same high you felt when you first came to Rio - that's when it's time to go to Pepino beach and sign up at the Voo Livre Club for a tandem hang gliding flight. To hang glide above Rio, from 510 meters high rock Pedra Bonita, across Favelas, to Pepino beach, is a truly exhilarating feeling almost rivalling sex.

Rio/November 2008/Gluttony:
Academia De Cacacha is a wateringhole in Leblon where serious drinkers meet. Skip the caipirinhas if you're not with a date and challenge your friends to a shot competition - there are over 500 varieties. (Rua Conde de Bernadotte 266).

Habana/November 2008/Adrenaline:
If your not into the Buena Vista scene or Cumbia (i.e. “salsa-disco”) there’s not a lot of options in Habana. The government and the police recently arrested famous punkrocker Gorki Aguila from legendary Porno Para for promoting “public chaos”. Sounds like a good deal to me. Ask around at the hang-out spot Ave de los Presidentes (G) and Calle 23; it's about five blocks from the Habana Libre Hotel. Anyone looking like they know the game should be able to update you on the underground rock and hip hop scene.

Lima/November 2008/Adrenaline:
Bar Templario Barranco. Hardcore fucking kick-ass bar in Lima, hear bands like Psicosis or Propagandhi scream to a mosh dancing pit. Peruvian punks are not for the lame, go in peace. (Av Grau 203 Barranco)

Lima/November 2008/Adrenaline:
The disco Iguana do throw the occasional good gig, like hardcore legends Agnostic Front from New York. It’s in the student area of Barranco. (Plaza Butters 291)

Lima/November 2008/Adrenaline:
Another ‘not for the weak’ bar in Lima is centrally located Nuclear Bar, where you could meet friendly bands like NecroMongo (Jirón Kilka 323).

Lima/November 2008/Adrenaline:
A slightly bigger club, mostly focusing on death/black metal is MAO bar, featuring the likes of Swedish legends Dismember. (Belen 1046).
